6th Grade Science
Students in 6th grade science can be expected to establish good laboratory practices, learning specifically about safe procedures and appropriate equipment use. Areas of study for 6th grade science students include: · the solar system · · the rock cycle and the water cycle · · physical and chemical properties of matter · · life processes, and · · the relationships between systems and cycles Further, students are expected to understand that science has a particular method for carrying out investigations, understanding how new conclusions are reached through the scientific method and that problems investigated using this method may or may not answer the original questions asked - in other words, science may not hold all of the answers to questions that we ask.
